Chafing Dishes

Chafing dishes are an excellent solution for keeping food warm and fresh during buffets, catered events, banquets, barbecues, and other foodservice settings. These metal pans typically sit above a shallow water tray and a small heat source (commonly called chafing or Sterno fuel, which we also offer). The purpose of a chafing dish is to maintain food temperature for several hours without compromising texture or quality.

Some models feature a roll-top lid that stays open when needed, while others use a standard hinged or removable lid. Fuel capacity also varies - some chafing dishes hold a single fuel canister, while others accommodate multiple, allowing for longer heating times and greater flexibility depending on your setup.

The name "chafing dish" comes from the French word chauffeur, meaning "to heat." It's important to note that chafing dishes are not designed for cooking food, but rather for keeping pre-cooked food warm. They do not replace ovens, stovetops, or fryers.
